Catalyst Sports Medicine is looking for motivated and hardworking interns for the summer semester (May-Aug). Below are the details and responsibilities of the internship.

We have our own performance training area complete with indoor turf, plyometric, and weight areas, where we train mostly athletes and a few personal training clients. Along with those responsibilities, we also have contracts with Hudson High School (WI), White Bear Lake High School (MN) and River Falls High School (WI). We provide all the strength and conditioning needs for their athletes at their locations. We are in touch with over 750 athletes, 40 sport coaches, 2 Athletic Directors, and numerous collegiate strength and conditioning coaches. The internship is to start Tuesday, May 30th and end Friday August 11th, unless other details are worked out with the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the strength and conditioning staff with the design and implementation of sport-specific strength, speed, and agility programs;
  • Assisting with the supervision of training programs at Catalyst and off-site;
  • Daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment;
  • Assisting with daily administrative and maintenance items;
  • Communication with coaches and other duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
  • Hours expected to be from 7:00am-2:00pm, Mon.-Thurs. & 8:30am-12:00pm, Fri. unless other hours have been worked out with the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Intern qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of exercise & the human body; Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic.
  • Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field; CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification; CPR certification.

I want to make sure you understand that we are unable to neither compensate you for your time nor help with your lodging. However, you will be able to workout at our facility free of charge, receive some athletic gear, experience coaching/training athletes from college to middle school, networking opportunities in the strength and conditioning field, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.
