The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Plans, administers, and manages strength and conditioning programs for the University's varsity intercollegiate teams in conjunction with the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Position Focus: Assists in the athletic performance development of assigned varsity teams. Designs sport specific strength programs. Directs primary team lifts and conditioning workouts.
Principal Responsibilities: 1. Designs year-long, comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams to include pre season, in season, post season and off season training cycles.
2. Assists in scheduling, managing and maintenance of three varsity weight rooms.
3. Tests and evaluates student athletes to track progress of program.
4. Meets regularly with coaches and athletic trainers to keep updated on student athletes' status.
5. Supervises and trains student employees.
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Exercise Physiology or a related field and two years of experience in collegiate strength and conditioning working in a multi-sport environment including both men's and women's teams or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Required Licenses or Certifications: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) and Certified First Aid / CPR.
