Athletic Performance Intern Fall 2017

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke Athletic Performance department is currently accepting applications for a highly motivated strength and conditioning intern for the fall 2017 semester. UNCP is a highly competitive division II athletic department competing in the peach belt conference.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with total training needs of all 17 varsity sports (including football)
  • Assist in maintenance of 2 athlete's only weight rooms
  • Completion of Athletic Performance curriculum

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be certified or working towards certification with the CSCCa or the NSCA
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certified
  • Strong work ethic
  • Punctuality
  • Desire to further one's career in the strength and conditioning field
  • Selected applicants will be subject to a background check prior to acceptance into the internship program

Preferred qualifications but not required:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Exercise Science or related field
  • SCCC, CSCS, USAW certifications
  • Previous coaching experience

Compensation:

  • No monetary compensation is provided
  • Advancement in the field of strength and conditioning
  • College credit if applicable
