Part Time Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

    Essential Functions:

The PART TIME (28 hours/week) assistant strength and conditioning coach will have the responsibility for designing a workout program and working regularly with assigned teams to develop their strength and conditioning as is specifically related to their sport. This position has no involvement with football.

  • Design, with full-time strength and conditioning coach's direction, and implement strength and conditioning programs for BYU's Division I athletic teams assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
  • Assist with teams as assigned
  • Assist the strength and conditioning staff with the implementation and testing of the strength and conditioning program for all teams.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the strength and conditioning facility.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the head strength and conditioning coach.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or related field required
  • Experience as an intern or volunteer strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level is required.
  • Experience with the Functional Movement Screen, Bod Pod, VO2 Max and lactate threshold testing and force plate analysis is preferred.
  • Either the SCCC certification from the CSCCa or the CSCS certification from the NSCA is required.
  • Knowledge of basic periodization principles, speed, agility, plyometric concepts and conditioning is required.
  • Strong desire to be a strength & conditioning coach is required.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from a strength & conditioning coach is required.
