Gardner-Webb University Athletic Performance Department is accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Athletic Performance Assistant (Strength & Conditioning). Gardner-Webb University is a private, Christian, Baptist-related university in Boiling Springs, NC home to 22 NCAA Division I Athletics Programs in the Big South, SOCON, & CCSA Conferences. This is a 1-year appointment with the opportunity to renew & move into a Graduate Assistant position. The intended start date is August 2017. The position is subject to a university background check.
Responsibilities: Assisting in all aspects of the Gardner-Webb Athletic Performance program, design and implementation of sport specific training programs for assigned sports teams. Candidates past working experiences & strengths will be taken into account in assignment of specific teams. Ability to effectively teach and execute proper technique of lifts and drills; supervision of team workouts; assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the Athletic Performance Facility & compliance with all appropriate university, Big South Conference, and NCAA Rules/Regulations.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate area of specialization with at least 1-2 years of experience in Athletic Performance (Strength & Conditioning) at the NCAA, professional or Olympic level. Candidate should be working toward or obtain a certification through the CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), USAW, PES or FMS, as well as CPR / AED certification. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs & Athletic Performance (Strength & Conditioning) related technology is highly encouraged.
