The University of Minnesota is accepting applications for the four (4) positions of Intern Strength and Conditioning coach to work with Men's and Women's Basketball for the spring term of 2016. This is a semester-long position that will begin in Sept 2017 and end Dec 2017.
Responsibilities: -Assist in the implementation of a Strength and Conditioning program for Basketball.
-Assist in all areas related to the maintenance of strength and conditioning facilities.
-Implementation of technologies relevant to Basketball Strength and Conditioning and Athlete Monitoring.
Qualifications: -Practical knowledge and experience with strength training.
-Practical knowledge and experience with energy systems training.
-Desire to pursue career in Strength and Conditioning.
-Previous experience in formal exercise instruction.
-Currently pursuing or already holding a degree in exercise science or related field.
-Currently holding or planning to pursue SCCC, CSCS or USAW certification.
This is an unpaid position. Motivated interns will gain a greater understanding of collegiate strength and conditioning as well as improve their qualifications for future employment.
