Loyola University Maryland is currently hiring for the position of Strength and Conditioning Volunteer Intern, working out of the Reitz Arena Weight Room Facility. Interns will be expected to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per week. The internship will last the entirety of the Fall 2017 semester. During the internship, the intern will be expected to develop a coaching philosophy, learn proper program design, how to research and assess articles in the field of Exercise Science, learn Excel programming, assist with on the floor coaching of assigned teams, and assist in the set-up and break down of training sessions. Once the intern has completed the above objectives, their internship finale will be to create a year-long program design for a designated team and potentially carry out their program for the last month of the semester. Candidate Requirements: Certified through the CSCCa (SCCC) or NSCA (CSCS), in pursuit of a bachelor's or master's degree in a related field, a desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate or professional level, ability to lead a team, and develop relationships with the athletes, coaches, and athletic department. Candidate Preferences: Previous internship and athletic playing experience.
