    The University of Denver:


    The University of Denver Athletic Department has been recognized as the top non-football department in the country, winning 8 of the last 9 Director's Cup Championships. The University's Athletic Department also placed 5th in the National Men's Capital One Cup Standings in 2016. In 2016, DU celebrated its 32nd National Championship. The athletic department has achieved high levels of success across every athletic program but most notably 8 National Championships for Men's Ice Hockey, 1 for Men's Lacrosse, and 23 championships for Skiing.

    Internship Description:


    The University of Denver's Sports Performance Internship Program was established to offer individuals a highly structured curriculum based upon gaining practical hands on experience within the collegiate environment. Interns progress through a 12 week educational curriculum where individuals experience both lecture and practical sessions each week. The curriculum was designed to cover the full professional spectrum of knowledge required within the collegiate strength and conditioning profession. Individuals will receive extensive practical experience coaching within the team setting, as well as small group and individual training sessions. Candidates for the internship should expect to gain unique experience related to evidence-based training, triphasic training methods, 3D evaluation/training techniques, the use of sports science tools (catapult, heart rate, and athlete monitoring), and knowledge related to functional applied science.

    Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • SCCC,CSCS, NASM, USAW or recognized certification
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (prior to the start of the internship)
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills & work ethic
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in related field
  • Successfully complete the university's background check
