Smith College is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a graduate assistant for the Smith College Strength & Conditioning Department. The position will start August 2018.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required and certification from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) as a Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) or the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS). Acceptance into a Master's program at Smith College is also required.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Responsibility for the year-round strength and conditioning programming for 3-4 varsity athletic teams.
Teach fitness classes to undergraduate students.
Assist in the head strength coach in the management of the Olin Fitness Center.
Assist with the design and execution of clinics for club sports.
Opportunities include but are not limited to:
Research opportunities with ESS involving data gathered on scholar athletes.
Use of the Polar Team2 system with any assigned teams.
Networking opportunities during site visits.
