Smith College is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a graduate assistant for the Smith College Strength & Conditioning Department. The position will start August 2018.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required and certification from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) as a Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) or the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS). Acceptance into a Master's program at Smith College is also required.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsibility for the year-round strength and conditioning programming for 3-4 varsity athletic teams.
  • Teach fitness classes to undergraduate students.
  • Assist in the head strength coach in the management of the Olin Fitness Center.
  • Assist with the design and execution of clinics for club sports.
    Opportunities include but are not limited to:
  • Research opportunities with ESS involving data gathered on scholar athletes.
  • Use of the Polar Team2 system with any assigned teams.
  • Networking opportunities during site visits.
