Southwestern University seeks candidates for the position of Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. The position is responsible for the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for twenty varsity sports in cooperation with the respective head coaches. This position is responsible for supervising workouts, providing student-athletes with proper guidance and training techniques, assisting with injury rehabilitation in conjunction with the athletic training staff, and designing effective, sport specific training sessions. The candidate may be eligible for faculty status and teach in the Fitness and Recreation Activities (FRA) and/or Exercise and Sports Science (ESS) programs. This is a 12 month, full time, exempt position with benefits.

A bachelor's degree is required with a master's degree preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate level, hold a current Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified(SCCC) certification and/or the Certified Strength Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification, and hold current certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid. The successful candidate is expected to comply with departmental guidelines set forth by Southwestern University, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, American Southwest Conference (football only) and the NCAA Division III. Additional duties may include administrative duties, etc. as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Preferred starting date is January 15, 2018.
