Southwest Minnesota State University is currently accepting applications for sports performance interns starting in the SPRING OF 2018 academic year. This position requires the drive to specialize in any sport assigned.

This internship will start January 5th, 2017 and finish May 15th, 2018. This is an UNPAID position. This position provides candidates with hands on experience coaching in a Division II college setting with the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Qualifications: Candidates should be certified in First Aid/CPR/AED and be pursuing SCCC (CSCCa), CSCS, USAW certifications. Applicants will also have the potential to sit for the SCCC upon completion of internship. Applicants must be prepared to work extensive hours and have a highly flexible schedule. Applicants will work with all teams based on needs.

Job description: Daily maintenance of equipment and weight room, assisting various sports teams under the direct supervision of the Director of Sports Performance, professional development throughout the internship, and completion of intern curriculum.

Requirements: Applicants must possess a relentless work-ethic with a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning, highly motivated, be punctual, enthusiastic, and willingness to succeed. Working towards/completed Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field.
