Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach (Soccer, Track and Field) - 11798
Job Summary: Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the Strength and Conditioning program at the University of Colorado. Duties include but are not limited to: program design, guiding student-athletes through a regimen of exercises to optimize performance and decrease injury potential; assisting with the oversight of sport-specific conditioning programs, teaching proper weight lifting, speed, agility and conditioning techniques; encouraging and motivating student-athletes to train and perform to their utmost potential, scheduling athletic teams and supervising workouts of student-athletes; communicating and assisting in the implementation of rehab and reconditioning programs prescribed by the doctors and sports medicine staff. Working in a team-oriented environment, the position will work with other Strength and Conditioning staff, sport coaches, athletic trainers and other athletic department personnel to develop comprehensive performance programs for student athletes. Weekend and holiday work will be required based on specific sports seasons and team travel.

What your key responsibilities will be:
Coach, motivate and design performance programs for specific sports student-athletes. Track progress of student-athletes. Communicate with sport coaches and Sports Medicine staff.
Collaborate with the Athletic Training staff concerning injury prevention, rehabilitation, movement prep, screenings and assessments, reconditioning, and recovery methods. Design reconditioning protocols or modify programs to accommodate all stages in an injured student-athlete's rehabilitation process.
Collaborate with Sports Nutrition on assessments and nutrition plan implementation for sport specific student athletes.
Participate in all on-campus recruiting visits and team-building activities, as requested by head coaches.
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of NCAA, Pac-12 Conference and departmental rules and regulations. Responsible for the observance of such rules by his/her staff and student-athletes. Embrace the spirit of gender equality in use of weight room facilities for both men and women athletes.

What we require:
Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Nutrition or related field.
Two years of experience working in Division I Strength and Conditioning or Professional Sports Strength and Conditioning.
Hold two of the following four professional certifications: SCCC (CSCCa), CSCS, USAW Level I, or FMS Level I.
Ability to support weekend and holiday work based on specific sports seasons and team travel
What we'd like you to have:
Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Nutrition or related field.
Experience training soccer, track and field at the Division I or professional level.
Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified.
