The Graduate Assistant Sport Performance Coach reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance and assists in all aspects of sports performance for student-athletes. This position is a twenty-one month appointment and runs from September 1, 2018 through June 15, 2020.

This position will assist the Northwestern Olympic Sports Performance Staff with the training for nineteen NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic sports. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance with testing and evaluation, implementing safe and sound exercise technique, maintenance, scheduling and supervision of facilities and implementing sports performance programs for assigned varsity sports. Earned Bachelor's degree; experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting; must be working towards the strength and conditioning coach certified (SCCC) by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association OR Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and must obtain certification prior to start date in July 2018; CPR/AED certified; ability to work productively with coaches, staff and student-athletes; experience supervising and directing student-athletes and other personnel; knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University; experience working with female and male student-athletes; and ability to work independently. Official start date is September 1st, 2018 with opportunities for a paid internship starting June 1st, 2018. All interested applicants for the position at Northwestern University (NU) must be accepted into the MSA graduate program. In order to take graduate courses applicants must obtain a Spring quarter 2018 acceptance deferred to Fall quarter of 2018. Graduate courses begin September 21th, 2018.
