The Assistant Director of Strength & Conditioning provides expertise and guidance in development and implementation of sound, scientifically proven strength and physical conditioning protocols. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive strength, speed, agility, conditioning and nutritional supplement programs for assigned intercollegiate sport programs. This position reports directly to the Director of Strength & Conditioning, and is expected to establish or maintain effective communication with sport coaching and sports medicine staffs to facilitate an integrated year round care and performance program for the student-athlete. Additionally, The Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning will provide direct oversight and development of an internship curriculum for the Strength and Conditioning Internship program. Daily responsibilities will be to provide weight room supervision, upkeep and maintenance of equipment as well as other duties as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning.
Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Nutrition, Kinesiology, Health or related field/equivalent training and experience; MINIMUM two years of experience in collegiate strength and conditioning; The candidate must hold: Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; Knowledge of basic spreadsheet and word processing programs; CPR/AED/First Aid certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association is also required.
Preferred: Master's degree; Experience working in baseball and football strength and conditioning, preferably at the Division I level; The successful candidate must possess strong communication and motivational skills as well as the ability and commitment to work within the Christian mission and purpose of Campbell University.
