Position Description and Responsibilities:
The Wake Forest, University Department of Basketball Athletic Performance is currently accepting applications for an unpaid Applied Performance Intern Position for the Summer of 2018. This will be an unpaid entry-level position with no medical benefits. The position will report to the Director of Athletic Performance for Men's Basketball and assist with all aspects of the Athletic Performance Program with an emphasis on athlete monitoring and tracking technologies. Applied Performance Intern duties will include but are not limited to: assisting with the implementation of athlete tracking and readiness technologies, data aggregation for the Applied Performance program, assisting the athletic performance staff with the design and implementation of basketball specific strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs, daily equipment maintenance and other duties as assigned. The Applied Performance Intern must comply with all NCAA and institutional rules.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • SCCC and/or CSCS certification
  • First Aid/CPR/AED
  • Experience working with athletic performance programs in a collegiate and/or professional setting

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in a relevant field
  • Interest in attaining SCCC certification
  • Experience working with excel, statistics, athlete management software, and sport technology systems
  • Functional Movement Screen (FMS) Certification
  • Background as a collegiate athlete
