Athletic Performance Unpaid Internships for Olympic Sports/Football

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletic Performance Department is seeking applicants who are highly motivated to fill four (4) available unpaid internships positions. These positions will be for the 2018-19 school year. Beginning date is negotiable. Applicants must be seeking to be certified SCCC through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning association (CSCCa). The six hundred and forty required hours will be supervised by MSCC, Ethan Reeve.

Interns will gain knowledge through active demonstration, teaching and coaching in these areas:

  • Teaching progression of Olympic lifts
  • Med Ball Routines
  • Plyometrics
  • Speed and Agility Routines/Techniques
  • Tumbling/gymnastics/calisthenics
  • Kettlebell Techniques
  • Hurdle Mobility Drills
  • Dynamic Flexibility Routines
  • Presentations to aid in preparation for SCCC written and practical tests
  • Philosophy of training for sports through athleticism
  • Density Method
  • Climbing Method
  • Program Design

    Preferences prior to beginning internship:

  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certified
  • USAW or CSCS Certified
  • Previous Collegiate/Professional internship

    Requirements:

  • Highly motivated, accountable, with positive attitude
  • Strong desire to be a Strength and Conditioning coach
  • Loves people and working with collegiate athletes
  • BS Degree in Exercise Science or related field
