Texas Tech University's Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting volunteer (UNPAID) strength and conditioning coaches to work with Men's Basketball. Qualifications: Candidates must have a strong desire to become a Strength and Conditioning professional; Must have completed or are working toward completing a bachelors degree at an accredited college/university; Must stay the entire summer (June 04-Aug 11) and volunteer a minimum of 25 hours per week; Knowledgeable in exercise physiology and biomechanics; Must have a current CPR/AED certification.
Preferred qualifications: Bachelors degree completed, previous internship and collegiate athletic experience, and one of the following certifications; SCCC, CSCS, USAW, or FMS. Rewards: Those seeking to become SCCC certified will receive mentoring from a certified Master Strength and Conditioning Coach. Candidates will learn various training methodologies, in-depth Olympic lifting modalities, and programming. The knowledge and experience gained will prepare interns for potential graduate assistantships and future professional positions in the field of strength and conditioning. Those willing to work through the basketball season will be of high priority.
