Morgan State University Strength & Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. This position will assist in the training and conditioning of Morgan State's varsity sports programs and perform duties pertinent to the advancement of the Morgan State Athletics Department. As an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach, the candidate will also be responsible for the designing and implementation of effective training programs for one to two teams as directed by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. In this position, the candidate will gain practical experience working in a Division I S&C environment, and will be under the guidance of an approved CSCCa mentor. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED and First Aid certifications, along with a desire to become an industry professional. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (CSCCa, NSCA, USA Weightlifting, Starting Strength Coach Association, etc.), previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, daily, weekly, and semester long professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the S&C staff.
