Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Southwestern College (NAIA- Winfield, KS) is seeking applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This position is a 12 month position starting July 2, 2018 and is a two year commitment.
Compensation: Monthly stipend, Full tuition waiver, Room & Board
Responsibilities: This position will serve as the head strength and conditioning coach for a variety of collegiate teams at Southwestern College. Requirements of this position include the design and implementation of year-round training programs for assigned teams. These programs include, but are not limited to, dynamic warm-ups, speed development, plyometric, weightlifting, conditioning, and mobility training. The qualified candidate will work closely with our sports medicine staff for injury status and return-to-play protocols. Additionally, this position will assist the strength and conditioning staff with sanitation and upkeep to the training facility.
Possess a BA/BS in exercise science or related field
The successful candidate must be accepted into the graduate program with a minimum GPA of 3.0
Have (1) of the following certifications:
Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa)
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)
Sports Performance Coach Certificate through the United States of America Weightlifting Association (USAW)
Experience designing and implementing physical training programs in a group setting
Ability to communicate effectively with student-athlete, sport coaches, sports medicine staff, and administration
Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
