The University of Arizona Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns. This internship will begin Spring of 2019 and will conclude at the end of the Spring 2019 semester. This is an unpaid VOLUNTEER coaching position. Compensation including parking/transportation costs will not be provided. You will receive gear, knowledge from an approved mentor via the CSCCa, potential to sit for the SCCC certification, and recommendations for future career opportunities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University of Arizona Olympic sports teams, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum.

Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or related course of study, and a desire to become a collegiate or professional strength and conditioning professional.

PREFERRED applicants will ALREADY have a current CSCS certification and working towards SCCC certification. Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and or personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Effective August 1st, 2015, NCAA legislation mandates that only certified personnel can coach athletes unsupervised, therefore current CSCS or SCCC certification is highly desired.
