The University of Mississippi Olympic Strength and Conditioning Staff is looking to fulfill Spring 2019 volunteer (unpaid) internship positions for those interested in a career in strength and conditioning. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division 1 S&C environment under the guidance of an approved CSCCa mentor and three Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Upon completion, interns will be qualified to sit for the SCCC exam from the CSCCa if they desire. To be eligible, you must be pursuing or hold a degree in a field related to exercise science. If you have already completed your degree, you must be within 12 months of the completion date to be eligible for this internship. Candidates must also be able to pass a background check. Those who have, or are actively pursuing, the SCCC or CSCS certifications are preferred. It is expected that the volunteer intern be able to maintain the schedule of the strength coach/coaches that they will be working with. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs, participation in an educational curriculum that will involve meetings and demonstrations with the strength staff, and maintenance of the strength and conditioning training facilities. Successful completion of this internship will provide invaluable collegiate strength and conditioning experience in the SEC and references.
