The University Of Missouri Department Of Athletic Performance is now accepting applications for the position of Volunteer Intern for Olympic sports during the 2019 spring semester. There is no monetary compensation provided, however, the aforementioned internship is a learning opportunity that qualifies as practical experience toward the 9 months or 640 hours required toward SCCC certification with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association as well as theoretical and practical experience that can be applied to CSCS certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: professional development and continuing education opportunities, networking, and assistance with the program design implementation, set up and break down of sessions, and routine maintenance of the facility. Interns will provide assistance to all Olympic sports teams and the football program. All prospective interns are expected to have an interest in advancing in a career in athletic performance. Prospects must possess excellent communication skills, outstanding work ethic, energy, and enthusiasm needed to become a successful strength and conditioning coach.
Individuals chosen for this position are subject to university background checks and CPR/First Aid/AED certified. Candidate must be working toward certification from either the CSCCa - SCCC certification examination and/or the NSCA - CSCS certification examination.
