The University at Buffalo Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for volunteer interns for the 2019 Spring Semester. Qualified candidates are welcome to stay on beyond the Spring Semester. Coach Caralla is an approved mentor for the SCCC Certification, therefore interns who complete the required hours will be eligible to register for the certification exam. These are VOLUNTEER/UNPAID positions and candidates are responsible for securing housing and ensuring that this is an economically feasible opportunity. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; assisting with the administration and implementation of the strength and conditioning program for the University at Buffalo Football team, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and assisting with duties in the fueling station. In addition, interns will be participating in our internship curriculum that includes classroom and hands-on learning. The subject matter within the curriculum will give you a solid foundation for program design, coaching methods, and biomechanic principles. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Candidates that already hold a certification from a recognized governing body (CSCCa or NSCA) will have the opportunity to earn further responsibilities. All undergraduate applicants should be working towards their certification and all interested candidates should have CPR/AED certifications. All potential candidates are strongly advised to make sure this internship is economically feasible before applying for this VOLUNTEER/UNPAID position. Interested candidates please email a cover letter, resume, and three references as one (1) PDF document to Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach Reggie Overton at firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications submitted in any other format will not be considered.
