Graduate Assistant for Strength & Conditioning

Central Methodist University: The Central Methodist University Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant (GA) position. This is a full-time, twelve-month position which will begin January 7, 2019 but flexible on the time table. Compensation will include full tuition waiver, stipend and optional housing, gear and recommendations for future career opportunities. This position is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Central Methodist University, the Heart of America Athletic Conference, and the NAIA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for all Central Methodist University sports as directed by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, programming for appointed sports, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facility.

Required qualifications include but not limited to; strong work ethic, a high level of personal integrity, knowledge and commitment to the NAIA rules and regulations, completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related field of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. All applicants should have, or be working towards an accredited Strength & Conditioning certification (SCCC or CSCS), as well as CPR & AED certification.

Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate sport, as well as proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
