The Cal Poly University Strength and Conditioning department is currently accepting internship applications for the 2019 spring and summer quarter. The goal of our internship program is to develop young professionals by providing experience in Olympic lifting, traditional strength exercises, corrective exercises, warm-up protocols, recovery methods, program methodology and design, and nutrition. An open mind to various training paradigms and thought processes is a must. Interns may also have the opportunity to gain experience programming and leading 1 to 2 teams, depending on experience level.
All internships are unpaid.
We seek highly motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career as a sports performance coach in a collegiate or alternate setting. Candidates should be personable, self-motivated, possess a team oriented mindset and professional demeanor. Must be able to demonstrate initiative. Ability to teach diverse group of student-athletes and communicate effectively one-to-one, in small groups and in public speaking contexts. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred.
Facility hours vary based on individual and team schedules therefore interns may be asked to arrive early or stay late.
