The University of Georgia Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking highly motivated candidates for SUMMER 2019 semester’s internship program.

Candidates: This program is designed for young strength coaches to gain experience and knowledge in a collegiate setting. Individuals will have an opportunity to work with 17 different Olympic sports and learn under seven strength coaches including one Master Strength Coach approved through the CSCCa.

Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with facility maintenance, equipment and training set up, supervision of athletes training sessions, lifting demonstrations, working on professional development assignments, reviewing research articles, and working on projects assigned by internship supervisor.

Qualifications: currently pursuing Bachelors/Masters in Exercise Science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Preferred candidates: will currently have or pursuing certifications through CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW organizations. Start and finish date will be TBD however approximately (June 1st- August 3rd).

Compensation: this is a NON-PAID VOLUNTEER POSITION. Interns can accumulate up to 40 hours a week towards (640hr total) CSCCa internship requirements. Candidates will have opportunity to gain experience and possible recommendations for future employment.
