The University of Georgia Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking highly motivated candidates for the Fall 2019 semester’s internship program.

Candidates: that are interested in the internship position may be required to complete the 640 hours required by the CSCCa to take the certification exam. (Not all candidates have to complete CSCCa requirements, however, the option will be available).

The program is designed for young strength coaches to gain experience and knowledge in a collegiate setting. Individuals will have an opportunity to work with 17 different Olympic sports and learn under five full time strength coaches, including a Master Strength Coach approved through the CSCCa.

Daily responsibilities: will include but are not limited to: assisting with facility maintenance, equipment and training set up, supervision of athletes training sessions, lifting demonstrations, practical skills training, leadership opportunities, working on professional development assignments, reviewing research articles, and working on projects assigned by internship supervisor.

Qualifications: currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and a STRONG DESIRE to become a COLLEGIATE STRENGTH and CONDITIONG COACH. Preferred candidates will currently have or pursuing certifications through CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW organizations. Start and finish date will be TBD however approximately (August 8th-December 12th).

Compensation: this is a NON-PAID VOLUNTEER POSITION. Interns will accumulate up to 40 hours a week towards (640hr total) CSCCa internship requirements. All candidates will have an opportunity to gain experience and possible recommendations for future employment.

Interview Process: we will take applications for 8 weeks from April 1st-May 24th. The first round of interviews (if selected) will be submission of a UGA S&C generated questionnaire. The second round will be a phone interview (approximately beginning of May). Final round will be FaceTime/Skype or face to face interview with S&C staff. All applicants will find out by June 1st, if they will be selected for the Fall 2019 internship.
