The Gardner-Webb University Athletic Performance Department is currently accepting applications for the Director of Athletic Performance. Gardner-Webb University is a private, Christian university in Boiling Springs, NC home to 22 NCAA Division I Athletics Programs in the Big South, SoCon & CCSA Conferences. This is a 12-month full time appointment with salary and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is subject to a university background check and drug test prior to official hire. The intended start date is Summer 2019; however, the review of applications will be ongoing until position is filled.

Responsibilities:
-Leading direction of all aspects of the Gardner-Webb Athletic Performance day-to-day operations
-Design and implement and oversee sport specific training programs for all 22 sports
-Expectation to be involved in aspects outside of the weight room and conditioning sessions, including but not limited to practice, staff meetings, team functions, as well as home and away competitions
-Help mentor current/future graduate assistants, interns, & volunteer Athletic Performance coaches
-Candidate must have ability to effectively teach and execute proper technique of lifts and drills; strong command and supervision of team workouts
-Manage upkeep and stocking of fueling station
-Lead in maintenance and upkeep of the Athletic Performance facility
-Remain compliant with all appropriate university, Big South Conference, and NCAA Rules/Regulations

Qualifications:
-CSCCa-SCCC or NSCA-CSCS required
-3+ year experience working in collegiate setting with Football & Baseball experience
-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required (Master’s degree is preferred)
-CPR/AED and First Aid certification
-Certifications encouraged: USAW, FMS, CISSN, PRI, etc.
-Proficiency with Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and other Office program; Strength & Conditioning related technology is encouraged
