Towson University Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill VOLUNTEER internship positions.

Goals: Be an integral member of the staff, improve on floor coaching, assist in program writing, implementation, and analysis, and learn the necessary tools to obtain a career in the strength and conditioning field.

Description: Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division 1 collegiate strength and conditioning setting while coaching all 19 varsity teams. The internship will consist of a 14-week curriculum based on the current science and practices of the strength and conditioning. The curriculum will gradually teach interns to create and present a final project consisting of full years training program for a given sports teams. Individuals will also be given the opportunity to learn the operation and practical use of wearable heart rate and GPS technology. Furthermore, this internship will fulfill course credit and hours toward the CSCCa certification if necessary.

Responsibilities: Assist full-time staff in the implementation and development of programs designed to improve strength, speed, power, energy system development, enhance functional movement patterns, improve joint and soft-tissue support, daily maintenance of training facilities, and administrative duties as assigned. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in an extensive curriculum that will enhance both scientific and practical knowledge pertaining to the field.

Interns may apply for semester or multiple semester/yearlong internships. Candidates should be certified in First Aid/CPR/AED and be pursuing CSCS or SCCC certifications.
