The University of California, Santa Barbara Sports Performance department is seeking interns for the Fall 2019 semester. Interns will have the opportunity to work with all Division I Sports Programs at UCSB.
September 20, 2019- December 13, 2019 (Slight adjustments to start/finish date can be accommodated)
-Assist daily with on-floor coaching, and in the design and implementation of sports performance programs
-Assist in all areas related to the maintenance of sports performance facility
-Complete UCSB Sports Performance curriculum including: discussions, readings, written assignments, practical demonstrations and projects
-Desire to pursue a career in Sports Performance
-Practical knowledge and experience in strength training
-Practical knowledge and experience with energy systems training
-Currently pursuing or already holding a degree in Exercise Science or related field
-Currently holding or planning to pursue SCCC, USAW, or CSCS certification
-Currently holding a CPR/First Aid Certification (Can acquire before start date)
This is an unpaid position. Motivated interns will gain a greater understanding of the UCSB Sports Performance System, of Division I Collegiate Sports Performance as a whole and improve their qualifications for future employment.
