Written Examination

Those qualifying to take the SCCC written examination must show their certification approval pass, as well as a photo ID (preferably a driver's license), in order to take the certification examination.

Written Certification

  1. The written examination will include both scientific and practical questions from the following areas of study:
    • Muscle Physiology
    • Bio-Energetics and Metabolism
    • Neuro-Muscular Concepts
    • Cardio-Respiratory System (Structure and Function)
    • Bio-Mechanical Concepts
    • Responses and Adaptations to Training
    • Aerobic and Anaerobic (Sprint and Interval) Exercise Prescription
    • Program Design/Periodization
    • Free Weight/Machines/High Intensity Training and Techniques
    • Speed Development/Plyometric Training
    • Flexibility/Stretching
    • Nutrition/Supplementation
    • Body Composition/Weight Management
    • Testing, Evaluation, and Goal Setting
    • Facilities/Supervision
  2. A Certification Executive Board has been created to prepare the written test questions. The individuals appointed to this Certification Executive Board are nationally recognized as leaders in their respective fields.
  3. Candidates must pass the examination with a minimum score of 70%.
  4. The CSCCa certification examination will be administered by a national testing agency.
  5. To become SCCC certified, everyone must take the written portion of the examination.

The CSCCa Written Certification Executive Board of Directors is the Certifying Body for the Written Portion of the CSCCa Certification Examination

The CSCCa Certification Executive Board of Directors has been created to prepare the written test questions (scientific and practical). Board members develop questions relative to their specific areas of expertise.
