ABOUT MICHAEL SKOGG

Michael is a world-renowned kettlebell coach, educator and author. He is a leader in the fitness industry as well as an inspiration to all who have trained and learned from him. His long history working with kettlebells, understanding of how the body works, and the unique workouts he has created make him a standout in kettlebell training.

Michael was introduced to kettlebells over twenty years ago while stationed in Scotland with the U.S. Military. He instantly saw the superiority of this full-body training, and has continued to evolve and refine his own kettlebell workouts to develop the SKOGG System. Because Michael is educated in sports injury rehabilitation and corrective exercise, he has a unique approach to strengthening and conditioning the body. Michael’s approach to kettlebell training emphasizes converting vulnerabilities into strengths, bringing out the full potential of every part of the body. His clients have watched their bodies transform, even those suffering from injuries they were told they would otherwise never have fully recovered from. He has trained everyone from professional athletes to workout buffs to those who are just beginning to exercise for the first time.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

In October of 2011, Michael Skogg was invited to be the first ever outside conditioning specialist to train the staff of the Penn State Athletics Department on the SKOGG System. Michael certified 35 strength coaches for every sport on the Penn State campus. He is the only kettlebell trainer for the NCAA Division I Strength and Conditioning coaches and will be a key-note speaker at the National Conference for the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA), as well as certifying 11 more Division I teams (Strength Coaches) to implement the SKOGG System in team strength and conditioning training.

You may recognize Michael as the national kettlebell trainer for Weider Fitness. He was featured in four of their instructional workout DVDs before creating the SKOGG System.

Today, Michael enthusiastically shares the benefits of his SKOGG System kettlebell workouts at the SKOGG Gym in Portland, Oregon. He is excited to make the SKOGG System available to everyone, with the release of the first in a series of workout DVDs. Michael is a contributing writer for STACK Media/Magazine, the number one training resource both online and print, designed specifically for the development of the young athlete.

Michael is currently working on a collaborative effort with Adidas and STACK media for a National Strength and Conditioning program to launch in 2012.
