BIO

Darren Edgington MS, MSCC, SSCS, USAW is a Master Speed-Strength & Conditioning Coach through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association, and certified coach through the International Sports Science Association and USA Weightlifting. He is, also, a Certified USA Weightlifting Referee. He has be serving as a college strength and conditioning coach since 1994, first at Middle Tennessee State University, then at the University of Mississippi, where he was the director of Strength and Conditioning for the Women’s Basketball and Soccer programs, and now oversees the Stewart Stadium weightroom at Murray State University. Darren has received numerous accolades, including a feature article in ESPN.com about his training and conditioning techniques for women’s basketball. He has also been the feature speaker at a Physical Therapist’s conference. Coach Edgington was instrumental in the injury prevention and physical development of the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year in 2007. Prior to receiving his Master’s degree from MTSU, Darren served 6 years on a submarine in the U.S. Navy.
