MSCC Class of 2015

Jason Veltkamp

Asst AD--Director of Football Strength & Condition

Jason Veltkamp, Head Football Strength & Conditioning Coach at North Carolina State, would like to express his deepest appreciation to his home team-Kristen Veltkamp and sons, Caden and Colton. Team Veltkamp has been at his side through wins and losses, coaching changes and moves-never once wavering in their support. It is important to remember that the most important wins need to be at home.

Veltkamp is entering his third season overseeing physical development of the Wolfpack football team. The 18-year veteran came to NC State after spending five seasons as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Arkansas. While in Fayetteville, the Razorbacks made appearances in the Sugar & Cotton Bowls and finished ranked #5 in 2011.

Prior to Arkansas, Veltkamp spent four years as Head Football Strength & Conditioning Coach at the University of Louisville. The Cardinals won 2 conference championships, reached the University's first BCS bowl game, and finished both 2004 and 2006 ranked #6 in the nation.
In 2001, Veltkamp was named Director of Strength & Conditioning at the University of Utah. His time with the Utes included conference titles in basketball and football and a top 25 finish in 2003. Veltkamp served as an assistant there from 1999-2000. His time at Utah proved to be key in developing a philosophy of open-minded, innovative, yet principle-based program design, thanks to guidance of two champions in the professionalslChris Doyle and Joe Kenn. Veltkamp is forever indebted to Coach Kyle Whittingham for his unending support, and to the late Rick Majerus for believing in a young strength coach and giving him the opportunity to grow in this profession.

Veltkamp earned a Master's Degree in Exercise Science from Utah State in 1998 and a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management from Carroll College, where he played Center for the Saints from 1991-94.

Coach V would like to say to Coaches Socha (Saw' Hah), Sharp, Balis, and Russell."Thanks for spending time making my program better on your way to leading your own." "Many thanks to Thunder, Stallworth, and the State crew-keep "Raising the Bar.""
