MSCC Class of 2003

Bentley Pollard

Whitefield Academy ( Head S&C Coach), University of Alabama

Coach Pollard's love for Collegiate Strength and Conditioning began in 1981 while he was serving as a student volunteer for Coach Mike Moch at Texas Tech University.

He had the great privilege of returning to Tech in 1987 as a graduate assistant for newly hired Strength Coach Joe Juraszek. Juraszek instilled in him an incredible work ethic and great devotion to this profession.

In 1989, Ben accepted the Head Strength and Conditioning position at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. He had the unique opportunity to establish a program that included 14 intercollegiate sports. During his nearly 10 years at Sam Houston he was greatly influenced by highly esteemed Coaches Mike Clark at Texas A&M and Robb Rogers at Baylor.

In 1998, he became the Head Strength Coach at TCU. During his years in Ft. Worth Coach Pollard had the great blessing to be a part of a Football program that went to three consecutive bowl games for the first time in the school's history. That included a 10-win season.

The success at TCU gave Coach Pollard the opportunity of a lifetime to coach at the University of Alabama. He is currently in his third year at Alabama where he has truly enjoyed being part of the incredible tradition at Alabama and working with a great staff and excellent athletes.
