Lee Glass

Director of Strength and Conditioning, The Ohio State University

Anthony Glass, a native of Granite Falls, North Carolina, is Former Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports at App State University, Former Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports at The Ohio State University. Past positions include four and a half years as Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports at the University of Georgia (1996 - 1999), and one year as Head Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Boston College (1995 - 1996). Glass also worked as a weight training instructor for the Department of Physical Education for three years and as a Graduate Assistant Strength Coach with strength and conditioning for one year at Northern Illinois University (1992 - 1995). Prior to his stint at NIU, Glass served one year as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Lenoir-Ryne College in Hickory, North Carolina in 1991.

Coach Glass holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Science, from Appalachian State University, as well as a Master of Science in Education Degree in Physical Education, with areas of interest in coaching and sport biomechanics, from Northern Illinois University. While at NIU, Glass authored the book Weight Training: A Step-by-Step Guide to the Development of a Safe and Sound Program, and has authored and co-authored a number of articles for strength training journals and news- letters. Glass has trained over 30 conference championship teams, 9 national championship teams and numerous Olympic and professional athletes. He has also trained over 75 All Americans from 19 different sports. When Glass was asked what made his job most memorable and rewarding, he responded: "My most memorable times as a coach have been the times that former athletes have returned to tell me how my coaching has helped them in their lives after their athletic careers are over."
Glass holds certifications through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa), the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), USA Weightlifting (USAW), as well as the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Glass resides in Galena, Ohio with his wife, Guerdie, his son AJ (25), and daughters Leila (18) and Leena (16).
