Benjamin Herbert

Director of Strength & Conditioning for MICHIGAN F

Ben Herbert is now in his 18th year in the field and his third at the University of Michigan where he is currently the Director of Strength & Conditioning for Football.

A native of Pittsburgh, Ben attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a student athlete from 1998 - 2001, and was a four-year letterman on the defensive line. Upon graduation, Ben started his strength & conditioning career at Wisconsin as an intern during the 2002 football season. He was promoted by his mentor, John Dettmann, to Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach in 2003, ultimately spending 11 seasons with the Wisconsin Badgers-the last 4 as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for Football.

During his tenures at Wisconsin, Arkansas & Michigan Ben has been part of 17 bowl appearances, including 5 Big Ten Championships and 5 trips to the Rose Bowl. Ben has helped guide the development of 73 NFL Draft Picks, including 9 first-round selections, 2 Heisman Trophy Finalists, 2 Outland and 2 Doak Walker Award Winners, 1 Mackey Award Winner, 49 First Team All-Big Ten selections, 5 First Team All-SEC selections, & 31 All Americans.

Ben has had the honor of working with many dedicated student athletes and coaches. He is grateful to have an outstanding staff at Arkansas and would like to thank them for their hard work and dedication.
