Darryn Fiske

Director of Strength and Conditioning

Darryn Fiske is the Director of Strength and Conditioning at St. Bonaventure University, overseeing the year-round training of all 19 Varsity Athletic Programs-including direct oversight of the University's flagship men's and women's basketball programs. Since Fiske's hire in 1999, numerous SBU athletic programs have experienced success through conference titles and post-season tournaments, including the 2021 Men's Basketball Atlantic-10 Regular Season and Conference Championships and 2012 Women's Basketball Sweet-16 NCAA Run-a first for both programs, 2018 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament with a victory over UCLA.

Prior to his arrival at St. Bonaventure, Fiske spent a year at Miami of Ohio University as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach under Dan Dalrymple, assisting with football and men's hockey and being directly in charge of men's basketball, baseball, and men's track sprinters and throwers.

Fiske began his coaching career as an Assistant Strength &Conditioning Coach under Mickey Marotti at the University of Cincinnati. For three years he assisted with football and became directly in charge of men's basketball, baseball, men's soccer, and men's and women's sprinters and throwers. His teams experienced many conference titles and post- season tournament participation.

Prior to this, Fiske served as a volunteer Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for the University of Buffalo football program.

Fiske holds a BS Degree in Exercise Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a MS Degree from St. Bonaventure University in Professional Leadership.
During his career, Fiske has had the privilege to coach many talented and motivated athletes who were able to make the jump to the professional level in the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and other professional leagues overseas.

He would like to thank the following coaches for his development as a strength and conditioning professional: Mickey Marotti, Dan Dalrymple, Tim Swanger, Sam Gannelli, Ken Mannie, Mike Gittleson, and Mike Vorkapich. He would also like to thank his current and former assistants for their hard work and dedication to the strength and conditioning program and to the student-athletes of St. Bonaventure University.

Most importantly, Coach Fiske would like to thank his wife, Susan, and his two beautiful daughters, Emma and Alicia, who are his foundation in everything he does.
