The assistant strength and conditioning coach will report to the Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports while developing and executing strength and conditioning programs for Men's Track and Field, Men's and Women's Diving, and other team(s) to be assigned, as well as assisting with Olympic sport teams as needed.
80% of time
Develop strength and conditioning program for assigned teams and student-athletes. Collaborate with coaching staff on program development.
Teach proper training techniques in the weight room for improved athletic performance.
Supervise and instruct year round strength and conditioning program for University of Minnesota intercollegiate athletic teams.
Cooperate with athletic training staff in the rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
10% of time
Assist in the overall supervision of weight room facilities including ensuring proper maintenance of equipment and monitoring compliance of safety procedures.
10% of time
Maintain knowledge and understanding NCAA rules related specifically to recruitment and to the on-going performance of duties within an NCAA Division I program and to follow those rules.
Maintain knowledge of current trends, practices and techniques related to strength and conditioning programming.
Perform administrative duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or related field
1-3 years or work related experience
Strength and conditioning certification that meets NCAA requirements for Division I, e.g. CSCCA, CSCS.
Assist in the advancing the department's mission, vision, and strategic plan including its commitment to equity and diversity.
Master's Degree in Exercise Science or related field
