Saginaw Valley State University Strength and Conditioning, an NCAA Division II institution, is seeking two Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coaches. This position under university policy is a part-time position with a $8,250 annual stipend. Graduate Students will receive tuition for 6 Credit hours Fall, Winter, and 3 Credit hours Spring/ Summer Semesters respectively.
Job responsibilities include: 1. Program design, organization, and implementation for 3-4 Athletics programs at Saginaw Valley State University.
2. Must maintain up-to-date records of all programming, testing, and assessments.
3. Assist in the maintenance, integrity, and daily upkeep of all equipment within the
varsity athletics weight room.
4. Must maintain professional working relationships with athletic training, academics, and respective coaching staffs.
5. Must demonstrate the ability to clearly and professionally communicate with student-athletes, administration, and academics.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or similar field is required with a Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0. Acceptance into Graduate School is necessary for candidate's consideration. Individuals must be CPR, AED, and First Aid certified as is required to work in intercollegiate athletics. SCCC or CSCS Certification must be obtained during first year of Graduate Assistantship. United States Weightlifting level 1 is preferred and extensive working knowledge of Olympic weightlifting will be a necessity. One year of collegiate strength and conditioning experience is preferred in an Undergraduate internship or professional internship capacity. These positions will be open until filled.
