Murray State University Strength and Conditioning Department is currently trying to fill its last internship position VOLUNTEER COACH/INTERN for the 2018 spring semester. We need individuals that want to learn how to build a program from the ground up. Experiences of this internship include starting nutrition program, updating/ordering new weight room equipment, and being involved in the year round programming and implantation for football and olympic sports. You will be involved in every process. You will also be asked to be responsible for coaching your own position group in the weight room with football. Other daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the workplace day in and day out, assisting in creating the best and most productive training environment for our student athletes, and assist in creating a competitive training atmosphere.
NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree or be in the last semester of coursework for undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or a related field of study. Candidates must also have a desire to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. Certification from one or more of the following (CSCCa, NSCA, USAW) are preferred. Interns will have the ability to get hands on experience in all phases of working in a strength and conditioning department. Inquiries must be received by December 31, 2017.
