Job Summary To assist in all strength and conditioning programs for all intercollegiate athletics in a safe and professional manner, and within all rules and regulations of Saginaw Valley State University and the NCAA.
This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Program design, organization and implementation for 3-4 intercollegiate athletic programs at Saginaw Valley State University.
Must maintain up-to-date records of all programming, testing and assessments.
Assist in the maintenance, integrity and daily upkeep of all equipment within the varsity athletic weight room.
Must maintain professional working relationships with athletic training, academics and respective coaching staffs.
Must demonstrate the ability to clearly and professionally communicate with student-athletes, administration and academics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or similar field.
Acceptance into graduate school is necessary for candidate's consideration.
Must have the ability to obtain CPR, AED and First Aid certification within first 30 days of beginning position.
CSCCa SCCC certification, or CSCS must be obtained during first year of Graduate Assistant-ship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: One year of collegiate strength & conditioning experience is preferred in an undergraduate internship or professional internship capacity.
