The Santa Clara University Sports Performance Department is now accepting applications for candidates to immediately fill roles as Volunteer Interns for Fall 2018. The internship is UNPAID with an anticipated start date of September 17 to conclude in mid-December, with the possibility of earning a paid position as a Part-Time Sports Performance Coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing 1-2 sports under the direction of the full-time staff, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance, cleaning of the weight room and completion of the internship curriculum. Candidates will also assist with the training of Men's and Women's Basketball as well as other sports assigned by the Assistant AD for Sports Performance and the Director of Sports Performance. Compensation will include gear as well as learning from a CSCCa approved mentor. Required qualifications: Currently pursuing Bachelors or Master's Degree in Exercise Science or a related field and a strong desire to become a Collegiate/Professional Strength & Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications: Experience as a collegiate athlete and currently pursuing or possessing SCCC, CSCS, or USAW, certification(s). This is a non-paid volunteer position; it may fulfill course credit if necessary.
