Angelo State University is seeking applications for a highly motivated UNPAID VOLUNTEER Strength and Conditioning Intern for the Summer 2019 semester. This position will assist with all sports. Preferred applicants must be highly motivated, have a tremendous work ethic, and be interested in becoming a Strength and Conditioning/Athletic Performance Coach in the collegiate setting. Successful applicants may also receive academic credits if applicable.

Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the Strength and Conditioning Staff in all aspects of program administration, working directly with student athletes to teach proper lifting technique, assess and document progress of the student athletes during training, and maintain a clean, sanitized weight room. As an intern within ASU Strength and Conditioning, you will learn how to: teach proper lifting position and technique, research relevant training modalities, develop training programs, as well as completing any other tasks assigned by the Strength and Conditioning Staff. All applicants may be subject to a background check.

Preferred Qualifications: a nationally accredited certification (SCCC, CSCS, USAW), personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and strength and conditioning experience in a collegiate setting. Interns MUST be CPR/AED certified.
