Job Title: Sports Performance Coach, Level 1, Full-Time, Exempt
Department: Sports Performance Center (SPC) at The Star
Reports to: Director of Performance

JOB SUMMARY
The Sports Performance Coach is responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of evidence-based and systematic performance training programs for the ST&R SPC athletes and members. Other areas of responsibility will include accepting and providing direction across a variety categories including diagnostics, recovery, and nutrition, and supporting outside organizations affiliated with the SPC. They will provide hands-on coaching and instruction with a high level of energy and professionalism to deliver a unique and exceptional experience for all athletes. Programming will be delivered to support individual, small-group, and team training for a variety of populations whom differ by age, gender, level and ability. Programming will include core, balance, stabilization, strength, power, speed & agility development to support each individual’s needs and goals to decrease risk of injury and increase performance capacity and output. They will also work to collaborate with other team members to ensure an integrated athlete-centric experience with a specific focus on improved performance outcomes across a variety categories. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

-Ensures personal objectives and team facility goals are met including but not limited to facility financials, services, and operations
-Under the guidance of the Athlete Performance leadership, assist in the creation of an exceptional Essential Skills & Experience
-Must be well organized, professionally driven, with excellent communication skills and the ability to implement programs as defined by the SPC System.
-1+ years’ experience applying skills and delivering services in a facility or sport team
-Experience working in a sports performance culture as a strong team player
-Strong verbal and communications skills
-Ability to assist and guide large groups of people and several staff
-Strong critical thinking skills and ability to make
-Ability to assist and deliver systematic performance programming to address individual or team needs (includes Testing, Training, and Recovery)
-Ability to progress or regress programs and/or exercises based on an individual’s needs or ability
-Ability to assess and correct exercise technique to ensure proper execution of programming

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelor’s Degree
-CSCCa and/or CSCS Certified (Need test date if taking in future)
-NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM-CES) - Preferred
-NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM-PES) - Preferred
-Maintain current credentials and/or certifications as well as knowledge in performance health, human performance, and sport science domainsteam-culture and work environment.
-Use all available resources to ensure excellence in pursuit of organizational objectives
-Deliver Performance Training Programs and other SPC services in accordance with the SPC’s mission, vision, strategies, guidelines and operations as defined by the systems, policies and procedures
-Resolves member issues or complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management
-Complete and maintain all documentation and records in a timely manner
-Collaborate with SPC Services Team to ensure each member receives the best integrated experience possible
-Implements testing to assess guest status, progress and develop appropriate game plans for services
-Performs hands-on coaching and instruction in an enthusiastic and professional manner
-Participate in continuing education programs related to credentials per professional licensing and/or certification requirements for maintenance of such
-In addition to professional credentials, maintains professional insurance (if applicable)
-Supports all other organizational objectives, plans, policies, and projects not specifically outlined above as directed by the VP of Athlete Performance
