Belmont University is currently accepting applications for the position of Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. The Head Coach will be responsible for managing, directing, and leading all strategic aspects of the University’s strength and conditioning program for its 17 NCAA Division 1 sports in such a manner as to build and maintain a dynamic, quality program that reflects positively on the image and reputation of the University at all times.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: managing the overall operation of the weight room, including scheduling, equipment maintenance, and supervision of daily operations; organizing, preparing, and conducting workouts with specified teams; hiring, supervising, and mentoring staff of graduate assistant coaches; managing an operational budget; overseeing facility upgrades and repairs; communicating with coaches, athletic trainers, and administrators to ensure the welfare and safety of all student-athletes while meeting team goals for strength and conditioning.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Three to five years of experience directly related to the duties specified, preferably at the NCAA Division 1 level. Experience training basketball athletes a plus. CSCCa (SCCC) or NSCA (CSCS) certification. First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Ability to lead, instruct, and motivate Division 1 student-athletes to improve overall performance. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to manage personnel. Skilled in budget preparation and management. Thrives in an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
