St. Olaf College: has an opening for a paid ($2,500) Fall 2019 Professional Internship — ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE COACH.
This position is a semester long internship, starting in August and ending in December. Start and end dates are flexible.
Job Summary: Under supervision of the Director of Athletic Performance, assist with the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs. Work with teams as assigned and design their training programs. Work directly with head coaches of assigned teams. Communicate with trainers to stay up to date with injuries and to design and implement injury prevention and rehabilitation programs.
Minimum Qualifications: CPR —First Aid certification, experience in the field of Strength and Conditioning with student-athletes in a collegiate setting. Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a related area. Certification by the certification by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) or National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Knowledge of athletic injury prevention and treatment/modification protocols.
