Morningside College (NAIA- IA): Morningside College Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applicants for a paid part-time position working with all programs for the 2019-2020 academic year. This position will start in the Fall 2019 and complete at the end of the academic school year 2020.
Responsibilities will differ and include various duties within the Morningside College Strength and Conditioning department. Hours vary during each semester and will include early mornings, late afternoons, and some weekend hours throughout the academic year. Will gain valuable, hands on experience in areas such as program design, speed and agility techniques, conditioning, facility and athlete supervision.
Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an Exercise Science related field required. An accredited certification through the CSCCa-SCCC, NSCA-CSCS, and/or USAW are preferred. Updated CPR/AED/First Aid required. Must be able to pass a background check. Must have a strong passion to pursue a career in the strength and conditioning profession. Previous weight room, student-athlete, or athletic coaching experience preferred.
Compensation: $10,000 stipend for the whole academic year 2019-2020 broken up into monthly payments; in addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to obtain Practicum Hourly Requirements needed to sit for the SCCC exam administered by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association by an approved mentor. Completion of this internship can fulfill potential credit hours toward a program degree and future recommendation in the field of strength and conditioning.
