RESPONSIBILITIES: The Head Coach is responsible for directing all phases of a Strength and Conditioning program for 20 NCAA Division I varsity athletic programs. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to; develop, implement and supervise the overall strength and conditioning program, provide preventative injury care, manage the daily operations for the strength and conditioning facility; maintain a department wide nutrition program including the managing of the fueling station; responsible for managing a budget; and hiring and managing staff and student volunteers and communicating with students and staff to ensure the welfare and safety of all student-athletes while meeting team goals for strength and conditioning.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree in either Physical education/Strength and Conditioning/Human Performance/Exercise Physiology or related field with an emphasis on Strength and Conditioning or Human Performance. Master’s Degree in related field preferred. Three years of experience minimal at the University level as a Strength and Conditioning Coordinator or Assistant Coordinator. Membership in the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) required. CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification required. CPR/First Aid Certification Required. The successful candidate will be a person of unquestioned integrity and high ethical standards consistent with the University’s Mission and exhibit a strict adherence to NCAA, Conference, University and departmental rules and regulations.
