Duke University Olympic Sports Performance is looking for qualified candidates for our internship position for the SPRING of 2020.

Why you should apply: Duke University is one of the most successful programs in Division I Athletics and competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference. As an intern you would work with 23 men's and women's programs (excluding football and Men’s and Women’s basketball). You would also go through our internship curriculum with program writing assignments, research presentations, mock interviews, and on floor coaching.
About the Internship:
Position for class credit: Undergraduate and graduate level credits are available for students during the Spring semester.

Our goals for our interns: Be an integral member of the staff, improve on floor coaching, assist in program writing, implementation, and analysis, and learn and develop the necessary tools to obtain a career in the strength and conditioning field.
Responsibilities include: Assisting full-time staff in the development and implementation of programs designed to improve sports performance, attend practices and games, and be able to take initiative. Interns will complete weekly assignments, attend internship and staff meetings and participate in staff continuing education activities as a part of their intern curriculum.

Qualifications include: A strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm, respect, and desire to pursue a career in the field of Sports Performance. Candidates must act in a professional manner and adhere to the Duke University Sports Performance Internship Program Standards.

The screening process consists of the following steps:
1. Resume review
2. Phone interview with staff
3. Video interview with full-time Olympic Sports Performance Coaches for candidate finalists
4. Federal Background and Criminal Records Check

1. Follow through with all four steps listed above,
2. Move to Durham, North Carolina for at least the length of one or two full academic semesters, and
3. Work a combination of early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
